For the Rome offices, Terna is seeking candidates for the role of Substation Automation System Technology Specialist, part of the Technology function, within the Substation Systems function.
Main Activities:
- Supervising the life cycle of the automation systems for the transmission grid electrical substations:
- Defining system requirements and drafting technical specifications;
- Supporting the supply provisioning process;
- Developing the project;
- Performing a validation test on the solutions developed and certifying their quality (at the factory, at the lab, at the plant);
- Supporting the company’s plant design organisational structures;
- Supporting the local operational units in gathering the requirements, measuring the system performances, analysing the faults;
- Experimenting with innovative technological solutions;
- Taking part in national and international regulatory committee work groups.
- Defining the technical content for specialist territorial unit training
Necessary requirements:
- At least 5 years’ professional experience
- Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic and Communications Engineering, Industrial Automation Engineering, Electric Engineering.
Specific technical skills:
- Industrial automation communication protocols and networks, OS, C language and derivatives, cyber security.
- Systems theory, process automation, automatic checks, embedded systems, PLC programming and configuration, microcontrollers and SCADA.
- Electric systems and plants, power electronics, electromagnetic compatibility.
Other requirements:
Excellent command of spoken and written English (essential requirement). Preferential knowledge of other foreign languages.
